Saturday Fun, a series of special events for children and their grown-ups, is happening throughout the summer. The programs take place under two white tents on the East Beach, near the Nature Center. No charge beyond the usual parking fees.

June 25 at 2: “Storytime by the Sea.” Join us for a read-aloud of nature-themed picture books.
July 2 from 3:30 to 5: “The Zoomobile Experience. ” A caravan of live animal ambassadors from Beardsley Zoo rolls into town. Zoo educator Jim Knox instills an interest in science, as well as a sense of respect for nature, and promises an awe-inspiring afternoon.
July 9 from 2 to 4: “Shake, Shake, Shake.” Get ready to drum, dance, and shake a tail feather when drum circle leader Randy Brody arrives with a whole lotta percussion instruments for everyone to play.
July 16 from 3:30 to 5: “Return of the Zoomobile.” Jim Knox and the traveling animals from Bridgeport’s Beardsley Zoo visit again. (See July 2.)
July 23 at 2: “Planting on the Beach.” School-garden advocate Annelise McCay helps children plant seeds in small flower pots made from recycled materials.
August 20 at 2: “Storytime by the Sea.” Join the Westport Library’s Kris Nash for a read-aloud of picture-book favorites.
